porsche hangout Rare Porsche Factory Models

Why are classic Porsche’s so incredibly enticing?

If you can bring forth more than five reasons maybe this video is just like any other,a treat, but if you can’t then simply take a peak and see why classic Porsches have become such sought after commodities among the collector community.

Porsche itself has decided to showcase some of its most exclusive models with the footage providing behind-the-scenes info into the factory-collection – giving us a top five countdown to some of its rarest and most enticing models. Let’s get started, then – we have the 964 Turbo S for the Weissach racing team that was commissioned back in 1992, with most of its bits and parts coming directly from the race-exclusive models. All n all, just 86 units were manufactured. Next up is the Porsche 924 Carrera GTS – just 49 examples ever graced us with their presence – each wearing a bespoke Indian Red finish.

Third is one of the Porsche icons of all time – the 911 GT1 – produced specifically for competition in Le Mans, and getting a very limited series production of just 21 examples, to comply with FIA homologation rules, each getting a 521 horsepower (400 kilowatts) mill. The 1984 Porsche 911 SC/RS is even rarer at just 20 units produced – designed precisely for rally racing. The king of the list is the legendary 356 America Roadster – no more than 16 of them lived and served as the basis for the still rare 356 Speedster.
