The 2018 Porsche 911 GT2RS came from the factory with a theoretical top speed of 211 mph. This 991 GT2RS marks the 4th generation of the GT2 platform since the original Porsche 911 GT2 which was a 993 and initially built in order to meet the stringent requirement of the GT2 Racing Class. The 993 featured a 3.6L twin turbo flat six engine that produced 444 hp and 432 lb-ft of torque. The top speed of the original Porsche 911 GT2 was said to be 187 mph. In this test video, you can see the vehicle launch hard and hit the 1000 ft mark at 127 mph. As the GT2RS approaches the 200 mph mark you can hear the massive amount of downforce the car is making.
