porsche hangout A Look At The 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S

The 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S is the most powerful and complete 911 to date. Porsche is a mastermind when it comes to balancing familiar aesthetics with advanced technologies. So nostalgically recognizable, yet so surprisingly new and advanced, the 2021 911 Turbo S features a tech-heavy cabin paired with a roaringly powerful engine.

Here’s why this 911 is set to be a serious contender in the supercar market.

Perfectly Balanced Cabin

The 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S comes with plenty of tech to enjoy. A center touchscreen draws one’s attention immediately, and it’s big enough to not squint while looking at it. There also some well thought out buttons and knobs that elicit that tactile response that human beings have come to crave. There seems to be just the right number of knobs without turning the user interface into a complex mind game to know what to press and when.

Climbing into the 911 feels like you’re entering a sleek and well-connected command center. It’s modern with no outdated finishes in sight. This is the 2021 model after all. The cabin is incredibly quiet due to the lightweight insulated glass that’s been fitted.

Engine Enhancements

The 2021 911 Turbo S wouldn’t be worth its weight unless it brought a clear performance edge on previous generations. And it does this easily with a six-cylinder 640 horsepower twin-turbo engine. This whopping 3.8-liter offers an incredible 60 hp more than the previous Porsche 2015 911 Turbo S. This gives you the impression that Porsche didn’t just squeeze a little more power into this engine, but rather put some serious thought into a new engine design. The new turbos are larger than before and offer equal responsiveness.

The power is delivered by a cast exhaust manifold that looks particularly similar to the ones on the GT2 RS. The result of all this? Maximum torque has now been made available at any speed which allows no hesitation at any rev counter position. This allows you to weave through traffic effortlessly without having to make sure you’re prepared to do so. No more aggressive shifting required here to muster up enough power to overtake.

Next Level Performance

What about the performance? Well, 0-60 mph happens in an astonishing 2.6 seconds. Porsche has managed to edge off 0.2 seconds form the previous Porsche 911 Turbo S. This is a considerable cut within the world of supercar acceleration.

With a top speed of 205 mph, you’ll never run out of pedal power here. What makes the Turbo S stand out is its mind-blowing precision on the road. Even driving around the hairiest of bends, this car never flinches or slips.

With more aggressive driving styles, the Turbo S boasts a stable and predictable response, every time. When slowing down, the Turbo S includes 16.5-inch carbon-ceramic brake rotors as standard. To up their game, Porsche has clamped on 10-piston calipers in the front! This is up from 6-piston calipers so you can imagine the stopping advantage here. Sure, as ever, the Turbo S drops to any required speed in an instant.

Porsche Have Raised The Bar

The 2021 911 Turbo S impresses on all levels. From innovative technology inside and out, a luxurious cabin, a new, more powerful engine, and Porsche’s enhanced braking system, the Turbo S raises the bar. Minor niggles include the price that can quickly accelerate with added upgrades, as well as strangely designed doorknobs. They stay flush with the car but snap out instantly when unlocked. If your hand is too close to them, you’ll be in for a finger-snapping surprise. But these are insignificant compared to the gains that the Turbo S has made. It looks and feels the part and offers for the driver a new level of thrill and excitement.
